ALGIERS- Minister of the Interior and Local Authorities Noureddine Bedoui and Portuguese police chief, Luis Manuel Peça Farinha, broached,
in an audience he granted to him Tuesday in Algiers, cooperation between Algerian and Portuguese police.
During the discussions, “we have focused on cooperation between the police of the two countries and exchanged our experiences” Farinha told reporters following the audience granted to him by the Interior minister, attended by the Algerian police chief, Major General Abdelghani Hamel.
Dubbing the cooperation “technical, frank and open,” the Portuguese official underlined that “police bodies of the two countries share common interests.”
Major General Hamel, for his part, said the discussions between the two parties centred on “the fight against organized crime, counterterrorism, training and exchange of information and experiences.”
